Hanover Township Food Pantry Food Distribution

The Knights & Ladies have answered the call to “Feed My Sheep”.  Hanover Township Food Pantry, in conjunction with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, was at St. Johns on June 26th distributing food to needy right in our own neighborhood.   Several of the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary were on hand to help with the distribution.  There were 75 families that received food at this distribution. The volunteers helped keep the tables stocked with food and runners/walkers helped shoppers bring their goodies to their vehicles.

This is Why we Host the Knights Challenge 5k

The Knights was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

The need is especially high during summer months when children are home from school.  The shelves of the food pantries empty quickly.  It’s time to replenish those shelves and the Ladies were manning the tables at church to accept donations.   Our Knights Challenge 5K proceeds are donated to Hanover Township Food Pantry.  There’s still time to register for our 5th annual event on October 6th and help us meet our goal.  See our dedicated website 5k.kofc12801.org for more information.
