Ladies Auxiliary Sponsored St. Joseph’s Table Cancelled

The Ladies Auxiliary Board regrets to inform the parishioners of St. John the Evangelist that the annual St. Joseph’s Table, which would have been held after the morning and afternoon masses on Sunday, March 15th, has been cancelled.   This decision was made in the abundance of caution, and  in light of recent changes implemented by the Archdiocese of Chicago, as precautionary measures to prevent spread of respiratory illnesses, such as COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and common Flu.  (If you aren’t aware, there are changes implemented at mass – click the link above).

Proceeds from the annual event support the Hanover Park Food Pantry, so we will most likely have an alternative fund-raiser later in the year.

We encourage everyone to do their part to prevent spread of illness, such as COVID-19.  Washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water is the best defense.  Don’t know how long 20 seconds is – say a Hail Mary and include an intercession by St. Joseph to help the world’s health care administrations contain this latest illness.

Are you worried about COVID-19?  To put things in perspective … Each year, there are 1 billion individuals impacted by common flu, yet it doesn’t get this notoriety.   There is a lot of misinformation in the media.  Check out the following links to be educated about COVID-19.
